Hub leader Prof Veena Sahajwalla AO has called on policymakers, industry and communities to embrace a new vision for Australia’s waste in her National Press Club address in Canberra yesterday.
Prof Veena shared how her team’s modular MICROfactories are already turning mattresses into tiles, e-waste into 3D-printing filament and reclaimed aluminium into packaging.
This work forms the basis of the Hub's Impact Priority 2: Plastic and Waste Materials and its sub-project Fit for Purpose Technological Recycling Solutions.
Her insights were also featured on ABC News Drive (from 16:27), Yahoo News, Packaging News, Innovation Aus and the Eastern Riverina Chronicle.
