About the Green Gown Awards Australasia
Now in its 15th year, the Green Gown Awards Australasia highlight excellence in sustainability within the tertiary education sector. This year’s ceremony recognised 12 winners and 6 highly commended entries from 38 finalists across 18 institutions in Australia and New Zealand.

Her award joins other notable achievements from the evening, such as the University of Tasmania’s multiple awards for climate action, student engagement and impactful sustainability programs.
A Collaborative Approach to Sustainability
The Green Gown Awards reflect the growing importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing sustainability challenges. Sponsors such as COS, Sumday, and Veolia supported this year’s event, which served as a platform for celebrating achievements and sharing knowledge across the sector.
Dr. Flies’ work exemplifies the hub’s commitment to connecting research with practical solutions to create sustainable communities. We congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to supporting further progress in this space.
